Hello everyone,
our customer has started a C4C project with the idea using the "New System - Copy of Source System" strategy at the end of the project. Pretty soon he realized, that it would not work out like expected, so he is following the idea of making new tenant from Solution Profile Copy now. We came to the project just in the end and are facing the following issue.
Issue:
The customer has already migrated his production data into the dev-tenant by using the Excel Migration Tool. (remember he has planned to use copy of the system).
He is not using HCI/PI. The customer decided to do the test on the dev-tenant, now. In order to “save” the (still) clean data, we are planning to export the data by using the work center “Mass Data Maintenance” -> Export Data to Local File -> Customers.
The exported data is a CSV-file. Unfortunately each part of the master data is a separate file.
We need to modify some values of the customer, because of a data quality issue.
Working with this CSV-export in excel is … not really user-friendly. Unlike the usage of the Excel Migration Tool where all master data is stored in one file.
Regarding the master data there is still the issue, that we do not get the marketing attributes exported.
Later, we would import the data into production tenant.
Summary:
Export clean master data from dev-tenat by using “Mass Data Maintenance” work center.
Modify (not user friendly) exported master data in excel. Import the csv-file into production tenant.
Our question:
1) Is there any better best practice for our scenario (C4C to C4C data migration)?
2) Is it going to work out if we use the exported csv-file (Mass Data Maintenance), at all?
3) We are really worried having the data in ths csv file, since its structure is totaly diffrent to the data of the Excel Migration Tool.
4) Is there any option to migrate Marketing Attributes?
Kind Regards
Nik
