Version Management in Library

Need some information on version control in Library

As per the User guide,

To upload a new version , user will follow the below steps

1. Check out the document

2. make Edits/Saves on local machine

3. Check In the same document

But when we perform this steps , we do not see the Document in the version row ( i.e. Version 2)

We see the document only if we replace the original document by uploading the document via Action--> Replace

Can some one please provide the correct sequence on how to use the versioning functionality for the C4C library feature.

Any document ( other then User Guide) will help.
